अर्जुन उवाच
दृष्ट्वेमं स्वजनं कृष्ण युयुत्सुं समुपस्थितम् ।।
सीदन्ति मम गात्राणि मुखं च परिशुष्यति।
वेपथुश्च शरीरे मे रोमहर्षश्च जायते। ।
गाण्डीवं स्रंसते हस्तात्त्वक्चैव परिदह्यते।
न च शक्नोम्यवस्थातुं भ्रमतीव च मे मनः। ।
दृष्ट्वेमं स्वजनं कृष्ण युयुत्सुं समुपस्थितम् ।।
सीदन्ति मम गात्राणि मुखं च परिशुष्यति।
वेपथुश्च शरीरे मे रोमहर्षश्च जायते। ।
गाण्डीवं स्रंसते हस्तात्त्वक्चैव परिदह्यते।
न च शक्नोम्यवस्थातुं भ्रमतीव च मे मनः। ।
Meaning “My dear Krishna, seeing my relative present before me in such a fighting spirit ,I feel the limbs shivering ,my body quivering and my mouth drying up”.
“Arjun said my whole body is trembling, my skin has goosebumps, THE GANDIV,MY ARMOUR IS SLIPPING FROM MY HAND . I see only misfortune o keshav!,the killer of kesi demon. ExplanationArjun was shocked ,went numb after seeing his own people, with whom he spent his entire life since childhood ,were in a war against him.
As a virtuous man, Arjun encountered these characteristics , not as any weakness but a pious man with principles of good and evil..Arjun was was seeing the shell ,without knowing the inside.The core of the Kaurvas evil designs for pleasures of kingdom and power were camouflaged behind the curtains.
He was being worldly and practical to think as without them,even a victory cannot be flaunted or meant anything.. This war became meaningless to Arjun and his spirit crumbled seeing the nothingness of things ,he called his own.
As a warrior, these people stand no chance in front of Arjun but as a family member ,they were his emotional weakness. Like in the society,we are not touched by the death of a neighbour but if a near and dear one dies ,we feel a vacuum in our lives because of the attachment . There is no meaning of life without our family members. Whatever a person earns, is for the welfare of the family members and loved ones. without their presence, all the kingdoms of this world are meaningless. Where we would flaunt all our riches, power and position without our own people around us?
Winning made no sense to him. Because all glory and achievement are worthless without showing it to your own near and dear ones. Arjun was engulfed in the fire of worry that was burning an alive person just like a pyre burning a dead person.
All his physical frailities were exposed and due to unexpected shocks of fighting against your own relative and friends ,was causing a great turbulence in him and his entire body came in the influence of this horrific feeling and his mouth was dry,skin was burning ,he could not focus or think in a balanced manner. Like in the society,we are not touched by the death of a neighbour but if a near and dear one dies ,we feel a vacuum in our lives because of the attachment.
